About Musical Hub
Musical Hub runs music lessons, music accompanying services and professional music performances. Owned and run by Rachael Gibbon, a professional clarinetist and pianist, based in Saddleworth, near Oldham.
Through Musical Hub, Rachael teaches a wide variety of music skills, including piano lessons, clarinet lessons, recorder lessons, music theory lessons and music aural lessons. In addition, she is a professional performer in her own right, regularly playing at concerts across the North West of England. She also accompanies choirs, exam pupils and musical events.
Graduating from The Royal North College of Music with a first class degree in Music, Rachael then gained a Ph.D in Musicology from Manchester University. During this time, she won the AHRC Award, the Louise Dyer Award and also gained a scholarship from Manchester University.
Today, she immerses herself in music, delivering private piano lessons, clarinet lessons, recorder lessons, music theory lessons and music aural lessons to pupils of all ages. Sessions are friendly and tailored to the ability of each pupil, many of whom go on to successful take music exams and progress steadily through the levels. Learning to play music is a lifelong skill that gives a player enjoyment and pleasure.
Rachael also teaches Academic Studies for the Junior Royal Northern College of Music (JRNCM) and Yorkshire Young Musicians. In addition, she performs professionally on a regular basis, both solo and within a variety of groups and ensembles. She plays the clarinet, bass clarinet and E flat clarinet in orchestras on request and will accompany musical groups as needed.
And when she’s not making music, she enjoys walking in the hills around Saddleworth and spending time in her garden, which is an ongoing project.
